Dr. Raj is a board-certified adult and geriatric psychiatrist dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care for adults across the lifespan. He is known for his thoughtful, patient-centered approach and his commitment to helping individuals and families navigate complex mental health and cognitive concerns with clarity, empathy, and respect.

Dr. Raj completed his psychiatry residency at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, where he served as Chief Resident, and his fellowship in geriatric psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania. He has specialized expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, memory disorders, dementia-related conditions, and other complex psychiatric illnesses.

He provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, psychotherapy, and advanced treatments including Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). Dr. Raj works closely with each patient to create a personalized treatment plan that reflects their needs, goals, and values while supporting long-term mental health and well-being.

Before founding the Alabama Institute of Mood and Memory (AiMM), Dr. Raj served in leadership roles within a major healthcare system and earned national recognition for his contributions to clinical care, education, and the field of psychiatry.
